This video is extremely short, but I found what it said interesting and I may do a review of the study mentioned in a later post. It's only slightly protein related because the omnivores in the study consumed diary products. Long story short, the study showed that there was no difference in bone mineral density between the two groups.
Good video on vegan vs omnivore.
ReplyDeleteMegan, very interesting video and result, i would figure that the omnivore that consumes double the amount of dairy products would have at least a little higher bone density, base on the supply alone. it raises questions on what other factors were in place, like the environment? sunlight exposure and exercises for example strength, weight lifting training and other supplemental protein such as soy and beans consumed. great job you had me thinking and wanting to do more research into this.
ReplyDeleteThe results from the study in this video were very surprising to me. With such drastically different levels of calcium, I definitely expected the bone mineral density of the omnivore group to be higher. I would like to know exactly what physical activities each of the groups was participating in, though. If the vegan group had been participating in weight bearing physical activity and the omnivore group had not, the differing bone mineral densities would have made a lot more sense. Anyway, thank you for your post! You inspired me to do some more research.
